"What happens when you record your dreams on video and view them outside their natural boundaries? Find out as Dennis thinks he got it all figured out but soon the tables are turning and he and his friends Jimmy & Mike find themselves in a nightmare that is just as real as dialing for a pizza or striking the g-chord. What are smoky minds to do? Entering the dangerous realm of a collective nightmare the three friends must find their way through and around their hideous doppelganger in order to free themselves of this terminal nightmare - but is it possible? Find out in this hair raising, rock'n'roll injected pizza pie of cinematic slime."
Taped Nightmare - is the first feature film in a series of film and video works to come out of Hollywood Tattoo Studio, the collaboration of Iselin Toubro and Jonas Frederiksen, wherein they investigate film language through outputs that can be viewed on your screen; from pure form to more esthetically visceral works, and whats in-between. This is their first output: a genre-specific feature film, with a hands-on-everything concept from writing the script to the physical distributable work, based on the classic hollywood model.
Taped Nightmare was written in 2010 and finally realized in 2012 under the direction of Iselin Toubro, a Danish video artist. Shot exclusively on VHS-C on locations in Copenhagen, Taped Nightmare starres Jonas Frederiksen as well as members of Family Underground and Girlseeker, it features original music by the aforementioned artists but also Backstage Pass, The Jesters and many more.
FAMILY UNDERGROUND & MARTIN KLAPPER (DK)
Family Underground exists within a free experimental realm. Building their music out of textures and dynamics from prolonged sounds created mainly from synthesizer, guitar, electronics and voices, their discography spans over 10 LP's and many other formats. They have played several international festivals among others ATP (curated by Thurston Moore, UK) and No Fun Fest in Sweden.
Composer, musician, filmmaker and visual artist Martin Klapper works mostly with collage, assemblage, mixed media and structural/material film. He is active in the field of experimental music and multimedia performance since 1981. Klapper is the current artistic director of the European Improvisation Orchestra and curator of the experimental venue Klub Argot in Copenhagen.
In this collaboration, Family Underground plays a live soundtrack to a manipulated double Super 8 projection by Martin Klapper.
WORLD NOTE (Jonas Frederiksen) (DK)
The 4th installment in the on-going concert series "World Note" by Jonas Frederiksen is intented to function as a moving still life, or a "still life on a moving screen". Jonas Frederiksen, musician/sculptor and keyboardist in reptilian pop sensation Girlseeker, plays contemporary solo piano/synthesizer music, creating pieces in real-time correspondence within the cross-worlds of ideas slash physique, space slash esthetics, intended to mimic gradients of Blue or the sensations felt upon a sudden realization.
